You’re just walking through Real Madrid World in Dubai, minding your own business, when suddenly — boom — there’s a giant football floating mid-air, a massive robotic foot ready to strike, and it’s not a dream. That’s the setup. We made it. For this project with Dubai Holding, our team at Vertex CGI created a full-blown surprise match right in the middle of the plaza. The ball launches into the air, and then — wait for it — two huge robotic gloves come out of nowhere to make the most dramatic catch you’ve ever seen. It’s like the whole street turned into a slow-motion highlight reel. People were literally commenting “Where is this??” and “Is this even real?” (It’s CGI, but we’ll let them wonder.)
