About the project
New York Fashion Week is the most crowded week in the most crowded advertising market on earth. Every brand with a budget is buying attention inside the same twenty blocks. We didn’t buy any. We also didn’t build anything, and we didn’t shoot anything. Savage X Fenty’s product appeared suspended over Seventh Avenue, throwing bra and underwear shadows across traffic lanes, crossings and pavements in the Garment District. No installation went up. No crew went to the location. The whole thing was generated with AI and placed into the real street. The shadow was the ad. The shadow never existed. Every frame here was generated. None of the decisions were. The idea was engineered. The light was chosen to match the hour. The shadow was directed to fall the way that street actually falls. The camera was made to move like a phone rather than a camera, because people pause these, scrub back and zoom in specifically to catch you out. Nobody caught us. Trade press covered it as a physical installation, and explained to readers how the sun tracked across a structure that was never there. Then the audience split in two, and the second half is the part that matters.
